slow cooker french onion chicken

 

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 oz pkg Lipton onion soup mix
  • 10.5 can condensed French onion soup
  • 6 thick slices Swiss cheese
  1. Coast a large slow cooker with cooking spray and place chicken into an even layer onto the bottom of crockpot. 
  2. Layer sliced onion on top of chicken and sprinkle with onion soup mix. 
  3. Pour french onion soup over top and place lid onto slow cooker. 
  4. Cover, and cook on low 8 hours or on high 4 hours. 
  5. Preheat broiler and coat baking dish with cooking spray. 
  6. Place chicken breasts into baking dish and add about 1/3 cup broth to the dish.
  7. Top each chicken breast with cooked onion and a slice of Swiss cheese. 
  8. Broil until melted and bubbling, about 2 minutes. Serve immediately.
